AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian says the U.S. attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities are further proof of Washington’s complicity in the Israeli war of aggression against the Islamic Republic.
Addressing a cabinet meeting on Sunday, Pezeshkian condemned the pre-dawn U.S. strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, saying, “This aggression showed that America was behind the Zionist regime’s hostile actions against the Islamic Republic.”
He said that although the Americans initially tried to conceal their role, but they came to the fore after realizing that the Israeli regime was floundering in the face of a decisive and deterrent response from Iran’s Armed Forces.
“Iran’s strikes on the occupied territories this morning was in fact a response to the U.S.’s aggressive policies”, Pezeshkian said, adding that the Israeli regime, fundamentally, lacked the ability and courage to attack the Islamic Republic on its own.
Referring to the unprovoked U.S.-backed Israeli aggression, Pezeshkian noted that the enemies were harboring the illusion that they would disrupt Iran by carrying out attacks and assassinating a group of military commanders and scientists.
“Relying on wisdom and guidance of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, a decisive response was given to the aggressor in the shortest possible time,” he said.
Reflecting on the political and legal dimensions of the recent developments, Pezeshkian stated that U.S. and Israeli attacks have rendered such concepts as democracy, human rights, and international law further “meaningless.”
